Calling all outdoor enthusiasts who also appreciate a cold one, this kayak tour takes you from the bay to the brewery! We’ll combine adventure with nature and history and a visit to Harbor Mountain Brewery, post-paddle, where you can try some of Sitka’s best craft beers.

We’ll paddle to reach one of Sitka’s most iconic landmarks, the Rockwell Lighthouse, situated on a rocky outcrop and only accessible by water, making kayaking the perfect way to reach it. Along the way to reach the lighthouse, you’ll discover stunning views of Alaska’s natural beauty and abundant wildlife.

What You'll Do On This Tour

From our launch point at Eagle Beach, near the mouth of the Indian River, you will paddle through the Galankin Islands to reach the Rockwell Lighthouse. Your experienced guide will provide instruction on kayaking techniques and safety procedures, ensuring that you have a safe and enjoyable experience. You’ll also learn about the unique flora and fauna of the region, as well as the rich history and culture of the area.

As you paddle through the serene waters surrounding the Galankin Islands, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the chain of small islands and encounter a diverse array of wildlife, such as sea lions, sea otters, eagles, and whales. The breathtaking scenery includes towering mountains, rocky shorelines, and lush forests that will provide a stunning backdrop to our adventure.

When you approach the lighthouse, you’ll be struck by its dramatic location and the stunning views of the surrounding coastline.

After exploring the islands and surrounding areas, you’ll paddle back to the launch point at Eagle Beach. From there, you will pack up and move to the Harbor Mountain Brewery, where you can enjoy a flight of craft beer and share highlights of the trip with the other tour guests along with your friendly instructor.

Please Keep In Mind

This tour is suitable for beginners with little to no previous kayaking experience.

To participate in this tour, you must be of the age 21+.

No alcohol will be served before or during the tour. After you have completed the paddle, the tour group will transition to the brewery, where participants will have an opportunity to purchase beer.

For groups larger than 6 people, please contact us at least one month in advance to make arrangements. We can accommodate up to 12 participants but require a co-guide to be on the trip with us.

We embrace cold and rainy weather on all our tours, so please be sure to bring appropriate clothing, including extra layers and footwear, to have a comfortable and enjoyable trip.
